Rosy Dessain - Managing Director

Rosy Dessain is one of the founder partners of Thomas & Dessain, having established the company in 1997. She is the Managing Director of the company and specialises in legal and other senior executive recruitment, particularly lateral hires and partner recruitment. From a successful previous career in commerce, Rosy brings to the search process valuable management experience and an in-depth understanding of both the business world and the personal attributes which make a successful and professional executive. Whilst talking at a strategic level with her clients Rosy is able to identify opportunities, using her in depth understanding of her clients' needs and is able to assist in identifying and advising on merger and acquisition opportunities. Over the years Rosy has worked on a multitude of senior projects.

Qualified in Psychometric testing, Rosy is qualified to evaluate, score and provide feedback on the suitability of senior executives for the role which they are being asked to fulfil.

Rosy is a member of the Committee of the Jersey Institute of Directors and is involved in several Jersey charities at committee level.

Charles Clarke is a Chartered Accountant who has a particular interest in governance issues affecting different types of entity across all business sectors.  His near 30 year career in the accounting profession with one of the Big 4 firms has given him extensive experience of advising and observing those who run enterprises.

Charles has worked in many jurisdictions, specialising in serving clients from the regulated financial sector. Furthermore, as Chairman/Senior Partner of his firm in the Channel Islands during a period of seismic shift for the accounting profession, he has considerable insight regarding the management of change in a professional services environment.

Debbie Lang - Non Executive Director

Debbie Lang is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, having qualified in 1989. She was managing partner of one of Jersey's leading law firms for six years before resigning from private practice to pursue a different career. As Managing Director of the Jersey law firm's trust company, Debbie developed knowledge and experience of the finance industry. As Managing partner of the law firm, she developed experience in management and strategic planning. She has a depth of understanding of law firm management and partnership issues which makes her well placed to advise on management and strategic issues and to offer services at all levels including partner and senior executive appraisals and training.

Debbie has held a number of non executive director positions which enables her to advise on recruitment and training at such level, particularly in the light of corporate governance issues.

Debbie has held positions as a Jersey Audit Commissioner, Chairman of the Jersey Education Audit Committee, founder Chairman of the Jersey Childcare Trust, member of the Tourism Development Fund Sub Committee and other charitable committee positions. She is a member of the Jersey Law Society and the International Bar Association.

Ward Jenner – Recruitment Consultant

Ward Jenner joined Thomas & Dessain in January 2003 after a successful career in offshore finance and investment industries spanning thirteen years and four offshore islands. He holds an honours degree in Commerce and the full IMRO Investment Management Certificate. Ward oversees the Interim Executive service within Thomas & Dessain.

Victoria De La Haye - Recruitment Consultant

Victoria De La Haye joined Thomas & Dessain in 2003 from the human resources department of one of the Channel Islands' largest law firms. She specialises in advising on recruitment for permanent mid to senior management positions. Victoria is the Deputy President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Alison Le Masurier – Recruitment Consultant

Alison Le Masurier is a Chartered Accountant who trained in Scotland with one of the big four accounting firms before moving to Jersey in 2002. Since then she spent a number of years in one of the leading fiduciary service providers where she was involved in the administration of offshore structures. Alison joined Thomas & Dessain in early 2007 and specialises in the recruitment of Accountants and Trust Professionals.




Hattie Sutton – Recruitment Consultant

Hattie Sutton joined Thomas & Dessain in October 2006 after seven years of Trust & Company experience, five of which were obtained in the fiduciary department of one of the leading providers of offshore legal, fiduciary and administration services. Having graduated with an honours degree in Fashion and Textile Design she spent four years working abroad. On returning to the Island Hattie joined the finance industry and obtained the Offshore Certificate and part of the ICSA Diploma. Hattie specialises in advising on recruitment for Graduate Trainee and PA/ Secretarial positions.




Ian Thomas - Consultant

Ian Thomas, one of the founder principals and directors of Thomas & Dessain left the company in 2004 but remains a consultant dealing with particular commercial projects from time to time. Ian has pursued a successful career over many years building companies offshore and internationally in the information technology and recruitment sectors.

Richard Crowder - Consultant

Richard Crowder has built a distinguished and successful international career in investment banking including senior directorships of J Henry Schroder Wagg & Co in London and Singapore, the Chairmanship of Smith New Court International Agency operating in London and the Far East and the Managing Director of Schroders (CI) Limited. He acts as a consultant to the board of Thomas & Dessain.




Peter Hodson - Consultant

Peter Hodson, a solicitor admitted in England and Wales and in Hong Kong, is a consultant to Thomas & Dessain through his company, Hodson & Company which is based in Guernsey. Peter was formerly a managing director of Bank of Bermuda in Guernsey. He assists with the provision of dispute management services, legal and compliance consultancy, fiduciary training and legal training.

Ernest Jowett - Consultant

Ernest Jowett is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and a former senior partner leading City law firm, Allen & Overy where he specialised in international private clients as an expert in UK and offshore trust and tax law. Ernest is a consultant to the board.
