Exciting role covering London, Jersey, Guernsey, Hong Kong and Cayman Islands. Postholder will identify, analyse and propose commercially-minded mitigation for legal, reputational and operational risks; maintain existing global terms of business and develop global approach to other contractual issues; maintain strong compliance culture, clarify regulatory requirements and obtain new registrations; advise on legal aspects of AML and sanctions questions; advise on data protection issues connected with Governance Services client mandates; analyse, often at short notice, legal risks associated with new products and clearly explain those risks/mitigation; own Governance Services precedents and create new precedents/checklists re legal risk; involved with business improvement projects; member of Governance Services Global Executive Committee; support career development of corporate legal expert with several years' PQE; co-ordinate legal input from specialist teams across firm.
Candidate will be experienced corporate lawyer who is trustworthy and discrete; strong relationship builder and excellent communicator and listener; self-starter, proactive and able to manage workload; ability to work largely autonomously with limited supervision; approachable, calm and confident manner; solid organisational, analytical and time management skills; ability to handle the pressure of prioritising and competing demands in a fast-paced working environment; diligent with exceptional attention to detail; interest in technology and always looking for new and innovative ways of doing things; advanced MS Outlook and Word skills.
