Exciting role opportunity working within a team of tax professionals to provide a UK and Jersey tax reporting service in respect of offshore trusts and companies including the preparation and submission of tax returns, preparation of relevant income/CGT pools and all related compliance matters. Postholder will provide support and guidance to the fiduciary service business on tax matters and help in the identification, assessment, approval and management of Fiduciary Tax Risk in accordance with the Wealth Management Fiduciary Tax Risk Policy; undertake compliance work on a mixed portfolio of fiduciary service clients; correspond with tax authorities and other third parties; dealing with any tax enquiries promptly; monitor day to day work to ensure all deadlines are met and maintain a record of compliance charges; deal with ad-hoc administration, projects and reporting as required; contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team by interaction / communication with colleagues.
Candidate will be educated to A level standard with English and Maths to at least GCSE level or equivalent; have good IT skills; understanding of private client structures and their rationale / use and basic knowledge of accounting and investments; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; excellent telephone manner; flexible approach and be a team player but should also be able to use own initiative; good accuracy and attention to detail. Advantages would be a professional qualification or a willingness to work towards a professional qualification (STEP/ATT/CTA); understanding of UK private client tax matters; experience of working in an office environment.
Five years continuous residence in Jersey required.
